Beating the Odds:  Evolution of an Evidence-Based Program

Ping Ho, MA, MPH

 

Ping Ho will share insights from her experience developing the successful evidence-based curriculum, “Beat the Odds: Social and Emotional Skill Building Delivered in a Framework of Drumming.”  These insights include the power of collaboration, needs assessment and evaluation in developing quality programming that opens doors for everyone.  The audience will also have the opportunity to engage in experiential music making as a means to understanding “Why drumming?”

 

Ping Ho, MA, MPH is Founding Director of UCLArts and Healing, an organizational member of the UCLA Collaborative Centers for Integrative Medicine, of which Ping is a Steering Committee Member and was founding administrator.  She has degrees in psychology (BA with honors, Stanford), counseling psychology (MA, UC Santa Barbara), and public health (MPH, UCLA).
